What is ARIN?

The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is responsible for the distribution and registration of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) throughout its service region of Canada, the United States, and many Caribbean islands and other outlying areas.

Established in December 1997 as a Regional Internet Registry, ARIN is a nonprofit, member-based organization that facilitates a bottom-up Internet number resource policy process and advances the Internet through informational outreach.
